This is to remind everyone that our meeting is this coming Sunday, March 22 at my home located at 3731 School House Lane from 2-3:30 pm. We are going to paint designs on a dish to be used as a watering source for the children's future butterfly site (at their home)! I hope to also provide either a seedling or seeds for them to plant in cups to start a butterfly bush to be planted in the near future by their butterfly dish. I have been teaching the children about concerns for survival of butterflys because of the destruction of their winter sites like the Amazon Rain Forests etc. So our club will do our little bit to promote their well being.
I would also like to comment about the niche at the Southern Spring Show. It was just wonderful and so were the comments by the public. The children that came by loved it. I plan to have some prints made up for the children to take home after this next meeting. So kudos to the Bees for all their hard work at the last meeting. Their little beaded hangings for our window were adorable and I plan to return them to the children who made them. Hopefully everyone remembers which one is theirs. Their magnet birds they made as favors for the upcoming state convention for Garden Clubs of North Carolina were super and each child got to take one home. I especially want to thank Laurie and Janie Booth and Jack Hilton for loaning their bead forms so the children could create their designs. Also thank you to Whitley Gray for pressing all the designs with an iron. She worked her little heart out!
As always guests/potential members are welcomed, just let me know. Please call or e-mail to give me a heads up as to attendance for the Mar. 22nd
